Martyred Intellectuals’ Day

The Pakistan military forces and their local collaborators — Razakar, Al-Badr and Al-Shams — abducted leading intellectuals and professionals of Bangladesh on December 14, 1971 during the Liberation War and killed them to cripple the nation intellectually. Academics, litterateurs, physicians, engineers, journalists and other eminent personalities were dragged blindfolded out of their houses and killed brutally at Rayer Bazar and in other killing fields in the city just before the two days of the victory. For the last 37 years after the independence, in this day the whole Bangladesh pays tribute to those Martyred Intellectuals.

My deepest gratitute to those best sons and daughters of the nation. Bangladesh Post Office had published a series of stamps in their memory. Here are those stamps [courtesy to BANGLAR]:

Let all of us write a Diary… together!

bangladesh-1971

It is December. It is the month of victory of Bangladesh.

This a request. A request to store the history of our country by us… all Bangladeshis… all of us. This a an attempt to capture the glorious moments of the liberation war of 1971 for us as well as for our next generation by us. For this initiative a blog has been opened. It is not quite ready yet but it will be for sure.

All Bangladeshis are kindly requested to reach this information to other Bangladeshis (especially to those who can contribute this site by their memories, stories, experiences… anything). We are waiting to taste the actual history from the history makers themselves.

We are waiting!

5 Things: Its’ a Tag!

I’ve never been into a TAG or Tagged any one. But … well… now I am starting one 🙂 . There is only one rule:  All the readers who’re  reading or commenting this post, all have been tagged! 😀 . Don’t forget to answer the questions in your own blog.

5 things I hate the most

  • Chemistry. When my 1st year in IUT was over I was so happy that along with other friends I burned all our chemistry class notes! That was my last day of studing chemistry in my life!
  • Romantic novels. Well.. I know it is pretty shocking, a boy like me is abominating the romantic novels? I know what you are thinking… I must have been broke up! 🙂 For your kind information I never had a girlfriend in my entire life! 😀
  • Smokers. Can’t tolerate smoking. 😡 Hate it!
  • Razakars. They were the war criminals of 1971 liberation war, who killed one of my Grand Father for supporting Bangladesh.
  • Hot drinks like tea or coffee. Astonished? I’ve nothing to do, but I really don’t like those. 😳

5 things I want the most

  • To buy a Porsche Carrera. This is my child hood dream and I am still confident about it.
  • To built a Bungalow along side a the sea beach.
  • To be the most famous man in the living history of the world. 😉
  • To work in NASA! I know it’s a ridiculous thought, but … hey nothing is impossible! 😉
  • To make Bangladesh wealthy and proud. Can’t guarantee … I myself don’t know whether it is possible!

Sachalayatan Banned??

Sachalayatan, one of the prominent and popular Bangla blogging platform is being suddenly halted in Bangnladesh. The authority have assured that there is no technical problem in their server. More over it can’t be access from Bangladesh only. Users from other countries can easily access this site. So two facts can be happened for this occurrence: either it has been banned or BTCL has some technical problem.

But majority bloggers in blogosphere are believing the first possibility, that is it has been banned. But why? Well… the most appreciating answer is after the hostile behavior of the liberation war criminals of Bangladesh with our freedom fighters, Sachalayatan has protested that incident by taking the side of the freedom fighters. And to majority of people of Bangladesh believe that the hatred razakars (iberation war criminals) have enough political powers to ban thi site. Unheard Voices has posted the whole facts in their blog. Read the full article here.

As a blogger I expect that Sachalayatan should be back in the full swing. Hope to see it alive soon. My request to all Bangladeshi blogger for raising the voice against this occurrence.

Book Worm!

I am well known as a book worm, at least I knew that. From childhood to till now I am a great enthusiastic of books. I can read my favorite books again and again. No tiredness at all to read them repeatedly. By the way not all books allure me. Suppose the text books. I am not a text book lover (if you knew my academic background then you wouldn’t hesitate to believe 🙂 ). I love adventurous, thriller and comedy books including comics (from Asterix to X-Men). It was hard to believe that I was going to bed at night without a novel or comics. But now it is reality!

Suddenly I have discovered a new of me. Now a days I am always surrounded by text books like “Continuous and Discrete Signals and Systems” by Soliman-Srinath, “Digital Signal Processing” by Proakis, “Signal Processing and Linear Systems” by Lathi and “Analysis of Linear Systems” by Cheng. So what is the secret of being so much text book lover? Well… this semester in AUST, I’ve made a bold movement. “Linear System” is considered to be one of the most tough course subject in entire under-graduation course work of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department. It is not only reason why other teachers are not willing to teach this subject. One of our assistant professor Monjur Morshed (who regularly conducts this course) took this subject to an artistic level. From that point no one is interested to share a subject like this with him. And I’ve chosen this subject to teach the students this semester!  The subject is not tough but it is tough to keep pace with  Monjur Bhai (as he is conducting other two sections of class from total  of four sections) and to hammer out it to students’ thoughts. I don’t know whether my students are studying hard as me. I am always trying to convince them to stick out with the subjects. But you know students are students, they won’t study unless the exam knocks their door. Sometimes my mom wonders seeing my passionate relationship with those textbooks “…whether you’ll seat for exam?”.

I’ve read my last books (of course non-textbook) just a month ago. One of them was a collection of Bangla short stories of Porshuram and the other was “Patriot Game” by Tom Clancy. Woh … I am missing those books terribly. I heard something of Summer Vacation of AUST which’ll probably be started from the next week for a whole week. I am waiting for that vacation … eagerly and anxiously. At least I’ll get touch with my pleasant companions.

Bangladeshi Blog Aggregator: We have none!

Blog Aggregator or Bloggers Community is utmost important for Blogosphere. Because it works as a junction point for all the blogs of a certain community. One can find out what the other people are thinking or what is the recent trends of their own community from that junction. Besides that, a blog aggregator also inspires people to contribute in blogosphere. Amateur bloggers can improve their blog by the useful comments from the expert bloggers from that community. Also one has the scope to read any fact from different views in different blogs. A blog aggregator actually represents the culture, mentality and opinions of a community.

As a blogger I am only 6 months old and I believe I am still an amateur. Whenever on net, I find a blog by a Bangladeshi origin I am delighted. But it is sure a cumbersome job to search blogs by Bangladeshi origin people. So the first thing that stroke in my brain is to find out any Bangladeshi Bloggers Community. For the last few months I’ve googled for any Bangladeshi Blog Aggregator but I found nothing! There is no community for Bangladeshi Bloggers or aggregation of Bangladeshi Blogs! I’ve found a name of Bangladeshi blog aggregator from Hasin’s blog, but for some reason it is not alive now. So the research result is “WE DON’T HAVE ANY ACTUAL BLOGGERS COMMUNITY OR BLOG AGGREGATOR FOR THE BLOGS MAINTAINED OR CREATED BY BANGLADESHI ORIGIN BLOGGERS”.

Colours of Life

Did you ever look back to your life? Have ever thought what was your dream about life and what is your life now? Did you ever calculate how your present life has been detoured from a dreamed one? Now-a-days I am an Engineer as well as a Lecturer in AUST; but what were my dreams? Are they fulfilled? Today’s post is packed with those rubbish thoughts.

When I was a child, I felt jealous to any ice cream hawkers. What a life? Having all the ice creams for all time within their van. I made the hard decision. I have to be an Ice cream hawker, so that I could have those mouth watering ice creams with me all the times. But that dream lasted a few years and my new ambition was to be driver of a fire brigade truck (the red truck with the ear tearing siren really allured me!). Like the previous one it also persisted for a while. And my aim in life, like all other boys was to be a pilot at that time. Well it also smoothly diminished with the span of time.

First Day First Show

Now, AUST has moved to its’ permanent new campus. Today was the opening of that campus. Students were all in a festive mode as they became a part of a history. It was just awesome! But there is some scarcity of facilities. In EEE department, faculty room has not been decorated at all! As I said earlier, laboratories are still incompleted. And we are lack of one lab, that is Simulation Lab. It surprised me when I found out that faculty spaces for all other departments has allready been decorated except EEE department. Ever since I joined in AUST, I found that EEE department is always been suppressed by the authority, though it is the largest department of the university with the large number of Faculties as well as students. But the authority does not take care of this department at all though a majority fund is come from EEE departemnt.

However, it is all our desire that this movement to a permanent campus will help AUST to increase its’ reputation in Bangladesh and aboard.

Following is a picture, where VC is giving speech today at 10:30 am as a part of the opening ceremony of the new campus. Sorry for the poor quality [as I took this one by my mobile phone].
