Google+ : The new Social Network

Well… it seems that right now Google+ is the hottest web address on the planet! Those who have it can’t stop using, those who haven’t are eagerly waiting for an invitation. Yeah … you read it right! You need an invitation to use it, just like the early days of Gmail.

Google asked a few number of people to use the Google+, the new social network from Google. On June 29, Google enabled an invitation option for them so that they can invite other people to join the Google+ network. But the invitation process went like a hell. It became so frenzy that Google disabled the option just after a few hours of enabling it. Vic Gundotra, a senior vice president at Google mentioned the invitation as – “Insane demand”. So he said that, “We need to do this carefully, and in a controlled way”.

What ever it is, I got one invitation from one of my freinds, Ashique Mahmood. And using it since then. It is really cool to use the product. If only they would integrate the Gmail in a new tab! Hope they’ll integrate it. And I still couldn’t figure out what is the difference between ‘POSTS’ and ‘BUZZ’. So far it is only lack of ‘APPS’ and ‘GROUPS’. But overall it looks pretty cool!

Want to use Google+?

If you want to use the Google Plus then you need invitation. And if you need any invitation, then just put your email address in the comment section below. I’ll try my best to send you one (but give me at least 24 hours).

How to invite others to join Google+?

Right now Google has omitted the standard invitation procedure from Google+. However you can stil invite others to use Google+. If you’re a Google+ user and want to invite your friends and family to join the network, then follow the steps below:

1. Go to your Google+ homepage
2. Make a new post under Stream. Write anything there.
3. Click on ‘Add Circle or People To Share With…’
4. In the text field, enter the Gmail address of the person you want to invite
5. Click Share

The person with whom you have shared your post will receive an email, asking him to sign up for Google before seeing the post.

:: UPDATE ::
It seems that the invitation process is working again!

:: UPDATE ::

As the several readers reported in the comment section below, it seems that the invitations are not working anymore. Which means Google is not allowing any new invited account. However, I guess that these invitations may come in handy when Google reopen the invitations again, but in the end it is upto Google to decide. So if you want any invitation, keep in mind that, it may not work at all right now!

So far I’ve invited the following email addresses.

  1. Wow! That sounds real cool to me. Please send me an invitation bro..dying to check it out 🙂

    1. Are the invites limited per already registered user?

I hope it is ok to put the mail address in the “Post as…” login field. If not I can just put it into a seperate comment.

      Thx a lot!

  2. Hi, if you still have any invitations left please invite me:
    joaoconstantinoster at gmail dot com
    Thanks in advance…

        1. There is some progress though: I can now see the +You menu next to the Gmail menu on the top left of the screen. 🙂 And the message is “Already invited? We’ve temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon.” I’m banking on the Please try again soon part. 🙂

          1. Alright! I got in on today’s window of new entries – thanks Adnan!

  4. I’d appreciate it greatly if you hooked me up as well.:)

    Thanks!

    1. Got the invite, thanks 🙂

But (just like other commenters do say) Google is currently blocking the creation of new accounts, even for people with an invite, because they ran out of capacity.

  5. luyijia [at] gmail [dot] com

    Please and thank you!

Are the invites unlimited?  Sorry for adding onto your list of people demanding invites 😛

    1. I am not sure whether they are unlimited or not. Because Google has halted the standard invitation process, so I am inviting people by other mean (the process of sending alternative invitation is described in my post).

  6. Are you still sending invites? If yes, please send one this way! 🙂

    roberto.rossellidelturco[at]gmail.com

    Thanks a lot!

  7. I’ve been dying to get one!!! if you still have one to spare would you mind sending it?
    marcio.miccoli [at] gmai.com

    thanks bro

  8. Thanks for the invitation but no luck bro, they are not taking any more new users 🙁 Google is saying –

We’ve temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon. We’ve temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon.”

  9. Thanks for the invite, but unfortunately it didn’t work, like a poster said before me. I received the email, and I clicked on the orange button, but it redirected me the normal webpage most people without Google+ get.

I’ll keep clicking throughout the day to in case Google ever opens the loophole back up.

    1. It was a loophole, it was not the standard invitation process. It seems that, Google has sealed all of their loopholes. Sad to hear that You couldn’t make it. 🙁 Hope that you can do it within a few days.

    1. Thanks a lot for the invitation!

Sadly it is not working atm :[

“Already invited? We’ve temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon.”

  10. thank you a lot man, I got the invitation! unfortunately, as other people said, it doesn’t work right now, let’s hope it comes handy for the future. Well enjoy your google+ and let us know how you feel about it!
    cheers

  11. Hey, news, I got in! 😀
    http://www.pcworld.com/article/235012/google_invite_workarounds_crop_up.html
The article says you can get into Google+ by logging onto plus.google.com with Safari on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. According to the comments though, none of the methods appear to work.

But I tried anyways. I visited plus.google.com, and logged on through an iPad. Then I went to my computer, and went to Google+, and I was able to sign in and create a profile!

However, it didn’t work for my brother.
The difference between my brother and I, was that my brother was never invited through the circle loophole method here. I’m not sure whether or not that’s a coincidence though. I’ve also visited the link to my own profile, https://plus.google.com/u/0/me, which my brother didn’t visit either.

So to all the people here who were invited via the loophole method here, try visiting plus.google.com on your iPod and see if it doesn’t work. I’m not sure if it actually worked for me or not, I have no evidence at all, but it’s worth a shot. Better try quickly though, since Google will probably patch it eventually if it does work.

Thanks m@q! I’m not sure whether or not what you did really got me into Google+, but I appreciate the invite nonetheless.

    1. Got the invite but got this message when i clicked the orange button…

Already invited? We’ve temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon.

      I’ll try again later

  12. I wasn’t able to get in for the first few days after I received the invitation, but I just tried it again and was able to create an account – so don’t give up!

    And thanks for the invite!

  13. Thanks for the invite Adnan! Tho, please, can you remove my email from this public space? Thank you.
